Sacred Heart Medical DietThe "Sacred Heart Medical Diet" is an old diet plan that is still doing the rounds on Internet. It sets out specific menus for seven days, claiming that "it cleans out your systme of impurities and makes you lose 10 to 17 pounds in 7 days". This diet plan has no merit because it's based on restricting calories, making you feel hungry, and then when the 7 days are up you will inevitably regain any weight that you may have lost. This kind of "yo-yo" fad dieting is bad for health and never works. Any weight loss is based on loss of fluids (not body fat) causing dehydration. This is a potentially dangerous diet that should not be followed by anybody. |
